La jeune Française Léa s'envole avec enthousiasme pour un séjour d'un an à l'université de New York. Elle emménage avec des colocataires de tous pays, dont le beau Californien Matthew. Elle le trouve «coincé», il la trouve snob mais, de dîners en week-ends, leur agacement réciproque va évoluer...
